Loki - Gloucestershire

Loki is a 1 year old entire GSD / Husky cross who is absolutely stunning.

This is what our volunteer says about Loki after going out to assess him.

On arrival, I knocked on the door and there was absolutely no sign of any dogs being in the property. The householder opened the door and I saw two GSD / Husky crossbreeds waiting patiently in the sit position. I was invited in and only when the householder gave them the release command they both came up to sniff me to say hello.

Loki kept his distance at first but once called and offered a treat he soon became my friend. He is extremely responsive to commands and knows over 40.

The current owners have obviously invested a lot of hard work, time and the assistance of a dog behaviourist.

I took Loki for an on lead walk and he was incredibly well behaved. He walks to heal with no pull on the lead, sits at the kerb and only moves when told to.

When coming across other dogs on the walk, Loki showed an interest but once told leave he continued on his way without any signs of aggression.

However, the lady of the house has expressed concern that when she walks him he will protect her and positions himself between her and other dogs and people.

He is not toy or ball focused at all and it seems he only wants to please his owners. Loki does cry when left alone so he would need to be in a home where he would not be left alone for long. He does not like people to approach him for stroking, particularly young children. Recently a young child approached

Loki in the family home and stroked him against the advice of the owner; Loki was uncomfortable with this and reacted, not in an overly aggressive way but more of a warning bark, but this resulted in the child receiving a graze on the skin. I saw no sign of any aggression during my visit but judging from the information given by the current owners he needs people to respect his space.

At present, he is living with his sibling and does suffer some separation anxiety when they are apart. There may be some distress when the brother and sister are separated.

Loki can live with other dogs and with older children. He would be best homed with someone with previous GSD experience.

He is house trained.
No food aggression.
No health issues.

Loki will make some very lucky person a very loyal and extremely obedient companion.

Loki is such a handsome boy.
