Hooch - County Durham

Hooch is a fabulous young and very bright Gsd x Malinois. Her current owners have had her since 8 weeks old, they have done their best with training her the basics. Hooch now needs an owner who is experienced with this intelligent switched on girl, someone who could develop her both physically and mentally.

Hooch lives with 4 children, aged 1 to 16 she gets on with 3 of them and is very responsive to them, although for some reason she seems to have an issue with the 6 yr old and has nipped him. This is the reason that her present owners have decided to rehome Hooch, as present owner doesn't want to put either child or Hooch at risk, as she's worried this could develop. Our volunteer said she's not an aggressive dog, but such a clever girl it's more about challenging the child. Due to this we would only rehome her with older children.

When I arrived at the home she came across as a friendly girl and was happy to see me.  She lives with a cat and gets on well, although she will not tolerate the neighbours cats. She pulled a little when we first set off for a walk, but soon settled down. When let off the lead her recall was excellent. She seemed happy with others dogs, although she has taken a dislike to two miniature Jack Russell that live near by, so we would not rehome her with little dogs.

Hooch needs a confident and knowledgeable owner, someone who can continue her training and who understands this highly active and intelligent breed.
