EUMO - CIRENCESTER

Eumo (aka as Sumo) is now ready for rehoming - rural home only.

This young dog has had a rough start to his life and at the age of just 7 months, he was removed from a cruel owner (now deported) and taken to police kennels September 2016 where he lived until the end of April 2017.

So he was still only 15 months old when he came to GSDR, had never had a proper puppyhood, probably never seen grass and was at risk because of his breed.

He is currently in kennels where they have worked their magic on him and he has made great friends with Daisy who seems to have the upper hand there.

He is castrated, he gets on with other dogs as long as they don't challenge him, we don't know about cats.

Because of his size, we think an adult only home or one with older children would be best.

This is not the breed for everyone, they have very strong guarding instincts which Eumo demonstrates very well when in his kennel. Only two people can go in and get him out but when he's out, he's a big softie who loves his tummy rubbed.

At nearly 70kg he is big and that thick long coat is very high maintenance.

This breed has poor recall so he needs secured land where he can be let off lead safely.

For more information on this breed, read our page on Caucasian Shepherds.

We think Daisy may have the upperhand there
