Domino - Suffolk

Update: Domino and Sassy rehomed together - May 2018

Domino & Sassy are GSD x Husky litter brother & sister. Domino is castrated, Sassy is unspayed.

Domino & Sassy are a bonded pair who currently are leading a very restricted existence. They are confined to the kitchen, when in the house. They do have access to the garden but are never walked. Despite all of this  this pair presented to our assessor as a sweet natured and friendly. This is all the more surprising as this particular cross is usually high energy and could easily become frustrated without regular exercise.

Neither dog revealed much of a guarding instinct and they were very approachable and easy to handle. They currently live with young children and three cats although we are not clear how much contact they have with either.

When walked individually both dogs were full of pent up energy and began by pulling. Obviously lead training has not been reinforced for some time and they do have pent up energy. Our assessor (a petite lady) was able to walk both acceptably on a slip lead, individually, but believes that a dogmatic might be a better option for any new owner to begin serious training. Both dogs encountered another dog in their separate walks. Both showed interest and became excited but there was no indication of aggression.

Our assessor feels that these dogs are amiable and, when settled, would not require a particularly experienced owner. They are sweet natured and responsive. They would present an initial challenge but she feels that they would settle into a routine quite quickly if given a normal routine of exercise and good food.

Domino is one of a bonded pair but the owner is prepared for them to be rehomed separately.
