Cody - Northants

Cody the rescue

Poor Cody he has already been rescued from a very unsuitable home, even at such a tender age. He is currently safe but needs a forever home as soon as possible. His rescuers are making wonderful progress with Cody and they do know how to care for him properly. However they have other small dogs, and managing the household with the unexpected arrival of Cody as an emergency, is difficult for them. It also poses some constraints on Cody, who as a lively youngster, needs a forever home where all his needs can be met more easily.

Cody was emaciated when rescued? but is gaining weight and condition nicely now. His special diet may need to be continued for a while longer upon adoption. He was also completely untrained but he is attending training classes and is not a challenging dog. He was merely neglected and lacked instruction. He is willing to learn and is making great progress. Our assessors tell us that he walks well on the lead now and knows basic commands already. They confirmed that he is good with cats, as they passed one on their walk with no reaction, and Cody is confident with traffic. He is already a very handleable pup.

The one area remaining at all problematical is his reactivity to dogs. Amongst all areas of neglect in his short life, Cody has not been socialized with other dogs. He attends training classes three times weekly nowadays and these experiences do mean that there is progress here as well.

Are you the person to invest in Cody and continue the work of rescuing this boy from the brink?
