Rio - Cambridgeshire

Romping Rio

Rio is a lovely bouncing pup who came to us in tragic circumstances. He was well loved and cared for but he lived in a busy house, where there was open access, accidentally. The front door was left unlocked, and someone came straight into the house. Poor Rio thought that he needed to protect his family and he attacked what he thought was an intruder. He is just a confused, untrained pup, who acted from his guarding instincts to protect the family he loved.

We took in Rio as an emergency admission, after the accident. He has been in kennels under day long supervision for several weeks now and we can say that he has never put a foot wrong. He has never shown any inclination to bite or even nip. He is easy to handle and walks well on lead, within the kennels. He has not been tested outside, as yet. He is reasonable with the other dogs and, you might imagine that he would kennel guard, but there is no sign of any kennel guarding behaviour. In a home, he would of course, revert to his instinctual behaviour. But guarding is an easy issue to cope with. In time, most dogs calm down, but if not, a simple guarding protocol is all that is needed

Basically, Rio is a happy uncomplicated pup, who has had some basic training and is intelligent and willing to learn more. He was overexcited in a busy home environment and would benefit from a calm child free home with experienced carers. Rio is only looking to love and please his owners. Can you do a bit of basic training with him? If so, you will have a dog, who will be a credit to the breed.
