More information:

Bruno has been in foster with since May 2019. He has moved nine times in his life, that we know of and he is now looking for someone who is able to commit and give him the life he deserves and needs, wherever he goes next needs to be his final and forever home.

In the house Bruno is a sweetheart. He loves cuddles and attention, he loves to be involved in what you’re doing and he is very, very funny. He is so weird and does so many goofy things he will never ever fail to make you laugh, he comes out with the weirdest noises and he cracks me up on a daily basis. He’s been friendly with all visitors of any age from babies to adults. He’s a big scaredy-cat who thinks he’s tough but would run away and hide in his bed at the slightest thing so don’t expect him to be a good guard dog! The only thing he barks at in the house is the doorbell although he has taken to just opening the door and greeting people now, much to the postman’s horror! He is very clean in the house and always goes outside to the toilet, he will often just open the door and let him self out. He loves his toys, particularly anything that squeaks you’ll often find him asleep with the toys in his mouth! He loves small beds and anything he can curl up in, the smaller the better even if he doesn’t fit in it. At night he sleeps well and will either sleep in his own bedroom or on the bed if it’s not too hot. He comes house sitting with me and he’s very good at knowing if he is or isn’t allowed on the sofa. He’s a very lovable dog, he is very good looking and has the brains to match. Bruno gets all his food from puzzle toys and training. He loves learning new tricks and we often spend the evenings training and teaching him things. He knows a wide variety of tricks and has no problem showing them off!

Outside the house Bruno is quite different. The outside world is very exciting. Bruno comes to work with me dog walking, he loves to be out doing things in the van or car. He loves his friends, dog and human. He can be quite strong at times, he has pulled people over. Although he is much better than he used to be he is particularly pulley on the lead anywhere with rabbits as he is a strong hunter. Bruno cannot always be let off the lead, particularly where we live as if he sees other animals or dogs he will run over, this is not ways safe or appropriate. He does have one off the lead walk each day if I can, somewhere quiet- beaches being the best as we can go down and play with the XL chuckit ball which is his favourite thing in the world. Bruno’s recall isn’t always good in places where he can hunt, he gets much more distracted however when down the beach with the ball, in less wildlife populated areas like woods, he is much better. This would need continued work in his new home. When Bruno sees dogs (and sometimes people) if he is on lead or in the car he becomes very frustrated and will lunge and bark, he is very strong. I always try and avoid this happening the best I can as I don’t want him to be put into situations which makes him react, so this will need to be taken into consideration in any new home. He needs to be walked in quiet areas with wide open spaces, he is not suitable to walk in places with lots of tight paths or lots of people and other dogs. Although Bruno is very friendly and I’ve had no issues with him introducing him to dogs or people, in the wrong situation Bruno can become extremely frustrated and this is when something could happen. Bruno loves his walks and would go all day if you let him! He is a very fun and active dog, he does need his walks and loves getting out with other dogs.

Bruno loves Agility and he’s a great cannicross partner. We also do scooteing and bikejouring and he loves this. Bruno is up for anything and everything and would be a great project dog for someone to work with towards doing a job as he loves to work and can be very motivated, he comes from working lines and certainly has the brains for it. He is quite small and very athletically built, I’ve had a physical done on him at the vets and he is in good health.

Bruno‘s life has been very unsettled and he’s gone from one unsuitable home to the next, each home there has been  different issues however with me he is very good and I’ve had no major problems. I manage his behaviour carefully which in reality isn’t actually that hard and we have fun doing lots of fun different things but this does need to be considered, it’s important that in his new home they understand he isn’t necessarily a ‘take anywhere with you’ kind of dog. Bruno really needs to find that special person that has the time, effort and energy to put into working with him. He’s such a lovely dog it’s so sad that he hasn’t found his forever home yet. He is one of the nicest Fosters I’ve had and has so much to offer, he is so amazing in so many ways, I absolutely adore him. Anyone that takes Bruno on will have my full support and before he goes into any new home there will be plenty of time to go through everything thoroughly. As Bruno is in Jersey there will be travel involved for anywhere off the island, obviously this makes it slightly more difficult so only a home which I’m 110% sure will work out will I be willing to home off island. Moving to a new home is stressful enough and with travel on top I wouldn’t want to put him through any in necessary stress for him to have to come back, he needs someone who will commit, as he’s moved so much already, I can’t see him get failed again.
