Ted - Bridgend

Ted is just 10 months old, entire and urgently needs a new home but will need an experienced home through no fault of his own.

When our volunteers visited Ted was not happy when they first went into the house, he came into the living room with his tail between his legs, he was nervous and did bark and made small lunges at them.

Our volunteers made no eye contact and ignored him.

They then went for a walk, the lead was handed over to a volunteer which he was OK with but he was still very cautious.

Whilst out on the walk they met other people with dogs which he was not happy about and his owner says that they normally cross the road in this situation otherwise he barks and lunges. He is quite strong on the lead which needs work.

Ted spends a lot of time at the parents home because of the owners' long work hours and in this situation, he is calm and settled. In the owners home with her 7-year-old child, he is very unsettled and causes around barking.

Ted would benefit from an adult only home with experience and where they will help him overcome his nervous issues. In the right hands, he will come on in leaps and bounds.

Ted needs daily training and he needs to meet different people and dogs and learn that this is a good thing and nothing to be scared of.

With the people he knows, Ted is a lovely family dog and they are reluctantly rehoming him because they don't think they can give him what he needs. Ted is very much loved by his current family, he adores his toys and treats.

Have you got the time and patience to help Ted overcome his anxieties and give him what he needs? Ted will be a very worthwhile project.

Ted has all the makings of a great family pet, he just needs a little help.
