Benjie - North Lincolnshire

Benjie has been in kennels several weeks now and is a much changed boy. This handsome boy is more than ready for his forever home. Are you ready for him?

Benjie is in kennels located near to the home of one of our very experienced volunteers, who is his 'kennel buddy'. He works closely with Benjie and has already managed to transform a highly stressed boy, who was quite reactive to most things, into a friendly chap whom he describes now as a 'kennel favourite'. Nowadays he is greeted joyfully by Benjie who is always up for a game and a 'tummy rub'.

Benjie does have remnants still of his challenging behaviour. He was described by his previous owners as 'good with other dogs' and he is in unmoved by the dogs in the kennels: but he is reactive to strange dogs when out. Possibly he sees the dogs in kennels as part of his pack and those outside as 'other' -  a very GSD trait.

He is also friendly now with most men but bears a lingering suspicion of men in dark clothing with hats. We do not know why but, needless to say, this is an area for improvement and on going training.

Benjie is a young big strong boy. He can be challenging but he is making progress on his issues fast, despite being in kennels. In a home environment, with an experienced owner to follow on from his basic training, we are confident that he would make a GSD of whom anyone could be proud.

Are you prepared to make the investment in him?
