Bear - West Yorkshire

Bear is a very nervous young man and will need to find a confident owner. At the moment Bear is reactive to strangers and other animals and although he has been seen by a trainer who has tried to impart training techniques to Bear's owners, their confidence has been shaken as whilst under the trainers care, Bear lunged and bit a passerby's arm whilst on a training exercise. They now feel they are not equipped to help this boy overcome his anxieties. Our volunteer found Bear in a high state of anxiety when arriving at property and it did take quite a while to calm this boy down, however our volunteer has since met Bear off the premises and managed to walk him side by side with her own GSD bitch, therefore there is definitely hope that Bear in the right hands and with a positive, calm handler things could be turned around. For now it will be slowly slowly and just giving Bear good experiences around people and other animals. Bear is only 1 year old and a stunning example of a semi coated GSD he surely deserves to find the right home to give him the best of chances to become a more confident and relaxed boy.
