Alfie - Hereford

Alfie - Hereford

REHOMED

Well, this absolute stunner is Alfie (aka Red) who came to the rescue after an abusive past. He looks well bred, possibly from show lines, but we have no way of proving that. His coat is black and the most beautiful shades of red which is so unusual.

His paperwork stated that he was 2 years old when he came to us but we believe he is now around 4-5 years old, he is neutered.

When Alfie first came to the rescue he was in foster where he started to come out of his shell and began learning to trust. Having said that, he is wary of strangers, particularly men,

Despite his abusive past, he has never shown any signs of aggression, he just lies on the floor in fear of his next beating!

He settled well in his foster home, he bonds with people he trusts, he was fine with all the other dogs in his foster home and tended to avoid them. We have no idea what he is like with cats.

We had no concerns about Alfie and he was rehomed about a year ago to what we thought was his forever home. He lives with a female Retriever who he adores and loves to play with. Unfortunately, this hasn't worked out as he doesn't like being left alone and he gets car sick!!

The ideal home for Alfie would be a quieter home without noisy young children and perhaps a more rural home would be better. He has met horses and is fine with those and not too bothered by vehicles passing when out on walks.

Alfie just needs a kind patient owner who can help build his confidence and help him learn to trust humans. He would be OK to live with another dog, a female would probably be best although he was fine with the males in the foster home.

Alfie really is an absolutely stunning dog in the flesh.
