Romanian Rescue German Shepherds Success Stories

Romanian German Shepherds Successfully Rehomed

None of these dogs had ever lived in a home before, they had never known what it was like to have regular meals, somewhere warm and comfortable to sleep or what it was like to be loved. Because they have lived on the streets, they have nice temperaments - the ones that don't are slaughtered. These dogs are used to people and other dogs, they are so rewarding, well we think they are worth helping.

Does Chenko think it's wrong to help Romanian dogs - what do you think?

chenko after he was rehomed in the UK

Chenko was a fabulous foster boy, my daughter Alice adored him and walked him miles during his stay here, yet nobody ever seemed interested until his luck changed in the spring of 2014 when he finally went to his new home with his new mum and dad Jacky and Gordon and his new girlfriend Kes the German Shepherd. He has blossomed in his new home and loves his new life. He is such a good boy, fine off lead, good with other dogs and loves meeting new friends - 2 or 4 legged. He particularly enjoys his caravan holidays and travels all over the UK. Chenko was a dog in need, dogs know no borders, we have no borders as we are all part of the EU now.

VARA

Luckily the vet at the Romanian rescue, was able to save her eye.

GEORGIA

georgia, an old german shepherd with wonky legs

Georgia is an older girl found collapsed on the streets in Romania. Her legs are wonky maybe due to hip displasia but more likely due to being hit by a vehicle. She is now in a home in the UK where she can spend the rest of her days in comfort.

Harriet

harriet romanian gsd that had to have her eye remove

Poor Harriet was in a terrible state when pulled out of the kill shelter and had to have her eye removed. But look at her having a bath when she arrived here. Her new Mum loves her very much.

CHAMP

champ romanian rescue who was cover in wounds and scars

Champ was covered in wounds, scars and had chunks of hair missing. In just a couple of weeks, look at the difference.

RINTY now known as Rin Tin Tin

romanian gsd living in hell but now safe

Rinty was living in hell but not anymore.

GRACE

beautiful older german shepherd grace who had been ovelooked in the shelter

This lovely older lady was found in a terrible shelter where she had given up the will to live. After coming over to the UK she spent a year in foster but has recently gone to her forever home, where she is a wonderful companion and very much loved.

A small minority think we shouldn't have helped these dogs, we disagree. These are just a few of the lucky ones, hundreds of thousands are still being brutally slaughtered out there.
