Lovely older German Shepherd Dogs that need new homes

Please do not overlook taking on an older German Shepherd dog looking for a home. They have the same right to a nice home as younger dogs.

Smoky aprox 7-8 - NE

smoky the gsd

Smoky is a lovely gentle boy saved from being put to sleep at the pound at the very last minute. He has been neglected, he is very thin and judging by the state of his claws he hasn't been walked. HAs been a bit grumpy in kennels but that's not surprising, he just needs out. Smashing older boy that will make a lovely pet. Needs a wash and brush up and lots of TLC.

Mack approx 7 - Just wants hugs and attention. Needs out of kennels asap

mack the older gsd

Mack is a really cheerful chappie and will make a wonderful companion. Because of his condition, we thought Mack was really old when he first came to us but the vet says not. He has improved much but he needs to get out of kennels and enjoy exercise to build him up. This poor dog could really do with some TLC. He was found with painful and irritating skin and ear problems that required time and attention to heal, something easily preventable had he had the care every dog needs. These have now been treated. He has been gentle and obliging with the kennel staff. It is not known how he is with other dogs as yet. Please, he really does need somewhere warm and comfortable to be, kennels isn’t the place for any dog but it's really is awful for older dogs.

Sam - approx 7

german shepherd name unknown

This poor boy was found abandoned with a male Rottie in a scrapyard. People were going in to feed the dogs before they were caught and removed to the dog pound where they were both scheduled for destruction. He is fine, a bit confused and frightened, loves his tummy rubbed. Rottie rescue have saved the other poor boy.

Chad - 9 years SE

chad the handsome gsd

This handsome lad is Chad. Chad was chained up in a back yard so has not been socialised. He is excellent in the house, a perfect dog you might say. He is amazing with people and has never shown any agression at all. He is fantastic with children and has been around lots of toddlers. He does not however like other dogs. He has a bit of arthritis in his shoulder, and is on Rimadyl for the pain.

Sasha 9 years

sasha the mature German Shepherd

Sasha is 9 and needs a nice quiet retirement home where there are no children. Wary of strangers and not keen on other dogs
