Lovely older German Shepherd Dogs that need new homes
Poor Archie. His story highlights the plight of older dogs
We do not want these older dogs to spend lengthy periods in a cold kennel
Quadro

Quadro is 10years old and entire. He prefers the company of female dogs rather than males. He is a very active and playful dog for his age and occasionally gets a bit bouncy and could knock you over when playing. We don’t know if he has had any experience with children or cats as we have no information on his back ground. Quadra is currently in a rescue centre.
This is the lovely Morgan - how could you resist her?

Morgan is very affectionate & loves being around people and is fine about people coming in the house. She would need someone around most of the time so maybe a young ish retired couple/person as she gets lonely. Morgan would be ok to live with children aged 12 and over, and would prefer not to live with cats. She cant be homed with other dogs. Morgan needs regular medication for her eyes, but it is not an expensive treatment.
Zeto - being left alone for 17 hours a day because new girlfriend doesn't want him!!

Zeto is a handsome 10 year old entire male. He is very good adults, children and dogs. Not sure about cats. In need of a permanent home as his owner has a new girlfriend who doesnt want Zeto. This has resulted in him being left upto 17 hours a day.He is not destructive and is house trained. Zeto loves walks, and playing football.
Jack and Frankie - so sad poor boys

Jack is the longer haired one Frankie has the short coat - both are quite spritely for their age. We have been told they are 13 to 14 years old litter brothers both entire. All we know is marriage broke up and the guy has just had his house repossessed. We work as dog handlers for the company evicting him and have been asked to rehome the dogs.
Charlie - neglected and unwanted

Charlie is about 7 years old, he was in the pound and due to be pts so we took him into our care. He is a lovely boy, he has a cauliflower ear which is probably due to neglect.
Smokey - NE in kennels nearly 2 years unwanted and unloved

Smokey has been no problem at all since he arrived, and loves just lying around in the runs. That is apart from when he is playing football with the volunteers. He does need work around other male dogs. However on the other side he is infactuated with a female dog called Lola, and they have even spent time in the run together off lead. Smokey has been good around people, no matter who has walked him, and apart from the one issue with another male dog, has been a real star.
Max

Max is beautiful 10 yr old castrated boy, he is a lovely boy and will be anyones best friend for a treat or two, he is wary of children so would be suited to an adult only home, he will chase cats outside but is ok ish inside if told sternly to leave. He lives with another dog and is fine, he is vaccinated.
Goal

GOAL, he is a 10 yr old entire male. Black & Tan long coated which needs some attention. He is not up to date with vacs. This boy was very friendly when our volunteer visited. He is good with children as he lives with 2 aged 6 - 8 yrs. He is housetrained used to being kept in doors. We feel that Goal will make a very good family pet. Due to owners circumstances Goal is not getting much exercise and is being left all day. If taken for a walk he pulls at first just we feel needs some training. Goal has never shown any aggression to anyone, owner not sure what he is like with other dogs as she doesn't walk him very often just runs in the garden. This boy deserves a nice home with someone who will give him the attention he needs and they will have a great pal.
Sophie

Sophie is an eleven year old spayed bitch. She has a really lovely nature, Ok with other dogs and cats. Good with children. She is in need of a new home due to her owners ill health and will make somebody a lovely companion.
George

George is a very young active 9 yr old entire male. Whilst I was there is played in the garden happily the young child age 2 yrs ran about and George wasn't bothered with him at all. He is good with children of all ages.Due to the added pressure of work and the twins George is not getting the attention or exercise that he needs therefore the owners are reluctantly parting with him. They have had him since he was 2 yrs old. He is not good on the lead pulls this I feel is because he is not walked enough and is so excited when he goes out he doesn't know how to walk steadily. We don't know what he is like with cats as he has never lived with them. He is ok with other dogs pulls to see them but most people pull away with their dogs. George will be fine but if the other dog growls at him he will react. He is vac. till Sept. He goes into kennels when family go on holiday and they say he is fine whilst in their care. I found him to be a very friendly dog, needs some lead training, but I think he will respond to a firm but kind handler. He has a clean bill of health, never been ill.
