Dogs for Adoption - Urgent case German Shepherd Puppies and Dogs looking for homes
"The one absolutely unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is his dog." George Graham Vest
The dog pounds are still full. The two breeds most at risk are GSD's and Staffies. Their crime - to be surplus to requirement. Unwanted and unloved. WE URGENTLY NEED FOSTER HOMES AND KENNEL SPACES. REST IN PEACE
Please do not overlook taking on an older German Shepherd dog looking for a home. They have the same right to a nice home as younger dogs.
Troy

Troy really is a wonderful dog, very friendly and very happy. He is a very unusual sable colour and has wonderful marking's, the pictures do him no justice at all! He is very stunning looking and has a fantastic temperament to go with them Troy loves everyone, including children of pretty much all ages. He greeted our volunteer with cries of happiness. Great with kids of all ages and loves other dogs and wants to play. He does not like cats and will chase them, he will also chase sheep if given the chance. He looks rather thin, not through any kind of neglect at all. The owners said he just never seems to put any weight on. He is very strong on the lead and does pull. He knows all basic commands and is fully house trained. He is being left on his own most of the time as his owners have parted and neither of them are allowed pets in their new homes.
Tyra - still a puppy herself at 9mths, now a mum.

Tyra was handed into the rescue pregnant. Tyra gave birth to 6 puppies which we believed were GSD/Boxer crosses. Unfortunatelyshe was too young to cope with the puppies and 4 were found dead. Read Tyra's story.
Zac

Zac's owner died recently and no one wanted him. B/T Short coat. Entire Male age about 4 - 5. Big Boy Stunning looking. Strong on lead. Jumps up but friendly. Bonds quickly and can be dominant with other dogs, would need perhaps more socialising. Beautiful example of a GSD.
Alfie
.jpg)
Alfie is the most stunning GSD, he is 5 yrs old, very friendly and good with children of all ages, he is very good with big dogs but if a small dog bark he will bark back, Alfie is castrated, vaccinated and chipped, walks well on the lead and is obedient, he does chase cats outside but has never been close.
Zoe

Zoe is a semi coat not spayed but jabs are up to date she's 4. Someone should snap this gorgeous girl up very quickly. She has a wonderfully sweet temperament and is good with people and dogs and has been fine with fosterers cat and guinea pigs. She has had zero training so is learning manners at the moment and is proving very trainable. She pulls on the lead but has good recall and will sit. She has over bonding issues and is quite needy so her new owners will either need to be a multi caring household to prevent her from becoming too clingy to one person or she should go to someone who has experience dealing with separation issues. She's settling quite well in a crate and this helps. She obviously hasn't been mistreated, just low priority in her previous home. She is integrating quickly into fosterers household and won't fail to bring loads of love into her new home...
Jake

Jake is an 8 year old castrated black and tan dog looking for a new home because of a change of circumstances in his owners life. He was a working dog with the police but was adopted by his present family 3 years ago. He is great with people and children, not so keen on other dogs. He is a very kind dog and in lovely condition..
Shane

This gentleman is 7 yr old Shane. A gorgeous big boy with cute floppy ears. Shane is in need of an experienced home, simply because he'd like to think he is the boss! He is good with other dogs, but not keen on small dogs or cats. Loves his walks, and especially playing ball. Vaccinated & neutered. Happy to lie by your feet all day long. Shane doesnt ask for much, just a nice quiet home, where he can live life to the full. Currently in foster care, Shane needs a home to call his own.
Booza

Booza is a 3 years old entire male. He is a short coated, black and gold dog. He needs some lead training and his recall is not good. He is good with older children Not sure what he would be like with other dogs or cats. A loving dog who needs a new home due to changing circumstances.
Pompey 5

Gorgeous big hairy beast, you can't help but admire his looks when you meet him. Pompey's owner lost his home so poor Pompey has been passed around for the last few weeks and now needs some stability with an experienced, calm, patient owner. He is a big bear of a dog and he needs a home without young kids where he will be allowed to settle in quietly without any pressure on him. He bonds quickly and strongly which needs to be managed so that he does not become over protective. Although he does get on with other dogs, he gets very jealous of them and so may be better as an only dog or being homed with a dominant bitch.
Sophie -18mth-2years. Poor girl needs a loving home

This pretty little girl is Sophie. Aged about 18mths- 2 yrs old, Sophie is an unspayed bitch. Sophie has had an awful life so far, being kept in a shed, fed from a bucket. She doesnt trust men, but isnt aggressive at all. Sophie is in foster care with children from 3 years upwards & is fine. A really sweet girl, who needs gentle handling & lots of love. Not up-to-date with vaccinations, not microchipped.
Tyson 2

Tyson is a dog that has had training, but is protective of his family and surroundings. Our volunteer feels this has been made worse by owner because she is nervous of how the dog will react to people visiting the home and she feels the dog is picking up on this. Put with an owner who will make the dog realise that he does not have to protect his owner and that he is not pack leader she thinks he will be a good dog. Good looking dog, still young to learn, and is a very active dog. He will need somewhere with a good secure high fenced garden, as he can jump high, he likes to jump up after birds and flies. He lives with a Jack Russell .
Kevin 1 year old - central

This is our Kev who is 100% fun. We reckon he is crossed with a kangaroo - he has huge powerful back legs but someone gave him the wrong head. It's a bit small and his ears are floppy - but very cute!! As GSD's go, he is big being tall and long in the body. No to young kids as he big and bouncy and jumps up and he mouths if you allow him to. He would love a family with teenagers who would play footie with him. He needs lots of exercise, he is bored in kennels and needs a home now. Needs fit owners.
Laika 3

Laika is a handsome, friendly and loving dog. He currently lives with 2 other shepherds, one male and one female, who he gets on well with. He has never been around children and definitely does not like cats. He can be nervous in new situations but is generally well behaved. He needs some lead training as he does pull. He will return on command and sit/stay too.
Buddy 5/6

Buddy is approx 6 years old and has been passed from pillar to post. He is a lovely intelligent faithfull boy but he doesn't like other dogs and will need an experienced owner. He loves to play with a ball.
JJ 5/6

This big handsome boy was picked up as a stray and taken to the dog pound where his time was up and he was due to be put to sleep. Our JJ has turned out to be a really good fun boy who loves to play ball. He is a very smart dog and needs an experienced owner who he can look up to. He needs a home without children and other pets.
Jerry Lee 18mths old

Jerry Lee is a 15 month old castrated boy, who just wants company and love, he wasnt socialised but since being with a foster home he has been introduced to other dogs and been fine but we have discovered he is no good with cats, Jerry Lee is nervous of new people and would be suited to a home with no children, Jerry Lee loves attention once he gets to know you and loves being groomed
Kali 8 - Farmer will shoot or owner will PTS if a home is not found

Kali lives on a farm, is never allowed inside and has been used for breeding. She gets out of her pen (surprise surprise) and has killed chickens and ferrets. If we don't find her a home she will be shot or put to sleep. Owner says she likes cats and kids but not other dogs although she lives with one of her sons.
Ben 6 - SW

Ben is a 6year old german shepherd, he is fun, clever, playful and cuddly. he is good with people and children but will need re socailising with dogs. He has been in boarding kennels for 2 years and is clean in his pen. Ben is very strong on the lead and will need training in this area also. He has lived out in kennels for most of his life so may need some ground rules if he is stay in a home environment. He will probably be best as an only dog. Ben will need a kind patient home that knows the breed and will be willing to spend time re training him.
"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."
