German Shepherd Dogs in the south east looking for homes
Please do not overlook taking on an older German Shepherd dog looking for a home. They have the same right to a nice home as younger dogs.

Amber
Amber is an 8 year young spayed bitch. She has not lived with children but is fine with the current owners grandchildren of 2 years upwards. Chases the resident cat outside. Amber does not like other dogs so would need to be the only dog but she loves people. Her back legs are slightly arthritic but she could do with losing some weight and getting more regular exercise. Her elderly owner has died and she needs a retirement home to call her own.
Shadow
This gorgeous 8 month boy is Shadow. He is entire . Shadow lives with 2 children of 5 and 13 and is good with other dogs. He has never met cats. He loves people and does not chew whe left and travels well in a car. He has been to obediece classes but as with any dog of his age training needs to be continued. He will pull on the lead at first but then settles. Shadow’s owner will be evicted unless we can get him rehomed quickly.
Shadow
Shadow is a 2 year old neutered male. He has never lived with children and can be iffy with other dogs. Shadow is unsure of people to start with and can be quite assertive however our volunteer did not feel intimidated by him in any way. His current owner does not have the experience to deal with this teenage boy who just needs some direction.
Julie
Julie is a 1 year old unspayed GSD Cross. The cross is probably Rottweiler or Doberman but we are not sure. We can say however that Julie is very pretty. She has a lovely build and colour and in the right hands could grow up to be a lovely dog. The owners have been told by their landlords that they are not allowed large dogs and Julie has to go immediately. The owner is disabled and Julie has had very little experience of the outside world. The owners also have 3 other small dogs and she has unfortunately copied their behaviour, barking a lot and behaving erratically. She can take tit-bits gently from your fingers, be very affectionate and then suddenly start barking, normal behaviour for the Chihuahua x Staffie she lives with, not so desirable in a big dog. Can you give this lovely girl a stable home to learn to be a proper dog again?
Kaiser
Kaiser is a 1 year old entire male who is used to living in a family with young children and is docile towards them. The owners don’t have the time or the space he really needs and are reluctantly giving him up. Kaiser is very nervous of strangers which leads him to behave aggressively and is not well socialised. He has rarely been let off the lead. He ideally needs a patient owner who can give him not only more exercise and stimulation but also the time to become more confident
Arko
Arko is a 1 year old neutered male. He is good with children and other dogs but not cats. He can be quite wary of strangers and will jump about barking whether in the home or out on walks. He has nipped before. Arko needs an experienced owner who can give him the training and exercise a dog of this age needs and which he is missing out on at present.
Jerry
Jerry is an unruly 15 month adolescent who has been testing his dominance on family and visitors. He has been allowed to get away with too much and needs an experienced family where he will be taught his manners. He bit a visitor who tried to take his food bowl away and can appear aggressive with strangers but once you get to know him he is very affectionate. He is being rehomed because the family are at work all day. He is currently unneutered and his behaviour would probably benefit greatly once this has been done.
Cara
Cara is a 5 year old spayed bitch. She is good with children. Cara has not really met any dogs other than the dog she lives with so will need socialisation. Cara will need some lead training as she pulls quite strongly. This lovely girl needs a home where she will get the exercise and training a dog of her age requires and which she is missing out on at present. She is being rehomed as the owner’s other dog initiates fights with her.
Barney
Barney is a 9 year old entire male. He is protective in his home and needs proper introduction to visitors but soon relaxed when our volunteer visited. Barney’s manners on a lead need some work as he pulls and will lunge towards other dogs, however off the lead he wanted to get to other dogs to play. Recall is another thing that will need working on. Barney is very fit for his age although a little overweight at present. All Barney needs is a strong handler to put him on the right track and he will make a fabulous companion.
TJ
This handsome man is 2 year old entire TJ. He is currently in another kennels where he is petrified but has been fine with his handlers. He has not been socialised with other dogs outside of the home and was taken into rescue for fighting with one of the other dogs. He has never been let off the lead for a good run. This young man just needs an experienced home where he will get the training and exercise a dog of this age needs. We would not rehome him with young children as we do not know his full history.
Max and Keira
Max (top) and Kiera (bottom) need to be rehomed together due to a relationship breakdown. Both dogs are 4.5 years old and long coated and are half brother and sister (same dad). Max is neutered and Kiera is spayed. They are both good with children of all ages, other dogs and cats! Both dogs have super temperaments and are very friendly. Max does suffer from mild epilepsy but this is controlled with medication. He also needs his ears checked regularly. They are strong on the lead and would benefit from some training
Milly an Abbey - DESPERATE situation
These 2 sisters are 7 years young and have never been apart. Neither are spayed or vaccinated. Millie is on the left and Abbey the right of the photo. The girls are very friendly and have been fine with the owner’s children of all ages. Apart from the family Jack Russel, they have never been socialised with other dogs. Millie & Abbey have spent all their lives living in the yard with a brick built kennel. They have never lived in a house, worn a collar or been on a walk so have never seen anything outside of their property. They are in desperate need of a groom and human affection. Being rehomed as owner is having to leave the property. Can you help?
Simba
Simba is an 8 year old spayed bitch. She is a loyal and trusting dog with people when she has sussed them out. She does live with cats but isn’t that tolerant of them. Her basic commands are good and she is ok on the lead. We wouldn’t rehome her with young children as Simba does suffer from epilepsy which is controllable with medication. SIMBA MUST BE REHOMED BEFORE THE 2nd AUGUST as her owner is losing his accommodation.
Barack and Diva
These 2 lovely GSD crosses must be rehomed together. They are both 18 month s old. Barack is neutered and Diva is spayed. They are both good with other dogs and children but will chase cats and foxes! These dogs are friendly and loving and very well behaved but can pull a bit on the lead. Both are microchipped and up to date with their vaccinations. Just need a loving home where they will get lots of exercise. Their owner is working long hours which isn’t fair on them.
Holly
Holly is a 2 year old spayed GSD cross (with what we are unsure). Holly was rescued from the streets of Hong Kong and sent with another bitch to the rescuer’s sister in England as his current dogs were not happy with the new additions. Holly is vaccinated up to date and good with other dogs. She was fine when meeting our volunteer, if anything just a little wary. Holly has been to classes and is good on the lead. She will however chase prey and ‘go deaf’ when on a mission. This will need working on by her new owner. Holly is amazingly laid back, well trained and eager for more stimulation. She would probably love a go at agility! Holly is being rehomed as her mum is not well and she cannot handle 2 dogs when out walking now
Tyson
6 year old entire male. Lovely temperament but will try to dominate other dogs sometimes. Has settled into his foster home with no problems however with other dogs. Has not lived with children but would be fine with older children. Being rehomed due to owner’s health.
Rocky
Rocky is nearly 3 years old and entire. He is a white long haired shepherd. He plays with children and other dogs. He is better with bitches rather than males. Rocky chases cats. He is a lovely dog although a bit boisterous and will need some lead training as he does pull. For this reason we would rehome with older children only. Our volunteer said he is very much a big puppy and would be easy to train.
Stella
Stella is a 7 year old unsprayed bitch. She does not like other dogs, however she is not aggressive towards them. She does not like cats either. Stella is strong on the lead so will need training. She is good with children but because she has not had much if any training, we would rehome with older children only. She is only being rehomed as her owners has had to move into accommodation where dogs are not allowed.
Khan
Khan is a 3yr old boy who has lived with teenagers and older. He is wary of other dogs as he was bitten by a staffie. He does have toy aggression which will need to be worked on as he doesn't like his toys being taken away from him. He also has a bad habit of barking at large birds whenever he sees them. He does however love playing football in the garden or park. He loves people and loves nothing more than snuggling up on the sofa after a busy day. He will need a home who has good experience with GSDs and who are prepared to put some training in to resolve his problems.
Chaka and Maia
Chaka who is an 8y old neutered boy lives with his spayed sister Maia. They have grown up together so will need to be rehomed together. When initially meeting other dogs Chaka is nervous but does settle down. Maia just ignores them. They have lived with children but not cats. Chaka is the dominant one who does bark at strangers who approach the property. Both are good with their commands and walk to heal nicely.
Kaiser and Rocky
Well what a lovely pair of of boys these are, the older of the two Rocky is 8 years old and a neutered black and tan short hair, Rocky is good with children of all ages, but due to an attack by another dog when he was a puppy he doesn't like other dogs. He pulls a little on the lead but this could be worked with. Keiser is 5 years old and a black and tan semi coated entire male, he also is great with children and he likes other dogs. They both travel well in the car, although Keiser can on occasion get car sick. Both boys are....very sweet natured and very friendly, when our volunteer went to meet them she didn't hear them bark once. They loved playing in the garden with their balls. Rocky has bags of energy - she couldn't believe he was 8 years old. They have never lived with cats so would be better going to a cat free home. They didn't jump up once. The boys owner is unfortunately working long hours which means the boys are being left for up to 9 hours a day. They have always lived together and get on so well, so for this reason we would prefer them to be homed together, have you got room for this lovely pair!
