German Shepherd Dogs in the south east looking for homes

Please do not overlook taking on an older German Shepherd dog looking for a home. They have the same right to a nice home as younger dogs.

Buster

buster the gsd

Buster is a 3 year old neutered male. He is fully vaccinated and currently in kennels in Essex. Buster was originally being re-homed due to his family not having time for him in their busy lives. He found a new home but was finding it very busy and stressful. Buster can be very wary of men and can show aggression towards them, but this is due to nerves. He has obviously had a bad experience with a man somewhere in his life. Buster would like a nice calm household, preferably one without children, where he can relax and learn to fully trust people again.

Kaiser and Rocky

keiser and rocky

Well what a lovely pair of of boys these are, the older of the two Rocky is 8 years old and a neutered black and tan short hair, Rocky is good with children of all ages, but due to an attack by another dog when he was a puppy he doesn't like other dogs. He pulls a little on the lead but this could be worked with. Keiser is 5 years old and a black and tan semi coated entire male, he also is great with children and he likes other dogs. They both travel well in the car, although Keiser can on occasion get car sick. Both boys are....very sweet natured and very friendly, when our volunteer went to meet them she didn't hear them bark once. They loved playing in the garden with their balls. Rocky has bags of energy - she couldn't believe he was 8 years old. They have never lived with cats so would be better going to a cat free home. They didn't jump up once. The boys owner is unfortunately working long hours which means the boys are being left for up to 9 hours a day. They have always lived together and get on so well, so for this reason we would prefer them to be homed together, have you got room for this lovely pair!

Ziggy

ziggy

Ziggy is a 5 year old GSD. Ziggy would be suitable for someone who is willing to put in some work and get back from that a wonderful dog. She currently shows some nervous aggression and is slightly protective of her home environment. She is very loyal to her family and although she does mix with younger children we feel that she should only be homed to someone with older children. She would also benefit from being in a one dog family. Ziggy currently walks on a halti on which she is fine. Unfortunately for Ziggy her current owner died and she has been left with elderly relatives who have been caring for her but due to their age and heath, they are limited to what they can do with her. .

Chels

chels

Chels is an 8 year old semi coated bitch. She currently lives with children and is very friendly to people coming into the house. She is used to traveling and is house trained. Chels currently lives with a Springer Spaniel and Mastiff and although she welcomes family and friend’s dogs into the home she is not good with dogs when outside the home, particularly small dogs. Chels does pull on the lead but the current owner uses a harness and she is fine. Chels would make a great family dog; however, the socialization with other dogs is something that will need to be worked on.

Sophie

Sophie

Sophie is a  2 year old unsprayed short coated black and tan bitch. When our volunteer first met her she barked but was soon ready for a fuss and a game of ball, she currently is kenneled outside but would live indoors quite happily. Her owner hasn't mixed her with other dogs so this is unknown, although she is ok with them when on the lead at a distance. Not a lot is known about her history but she obviously hasn't had a lot of socialisation and is unsure of crowds and will shy away from moving cars bikes etc, but she is getting better and loves playing ball so with a bit of training and patience this can easily be corrected.. She has never really mixed with children so she can only go to an adult home only.  Her present owner has had her for just over 6 months, she was purchased for security work but she has recently been diagnosed with mild Hip Dysplasia and would be unable to cope with the rigorous training regime. Please don't let this put you off go and do some research Sophie can still live a very full and active life, and doesn't need any medication. Sophie will reward you by being a very loving and loyal companion.
