Maxie

This is 2 yr old, entire male, Maxie. He is a super dog, who is very friendly. He lives with another gsd and gets on great with other dogs. Maxie is very playful & for this reason will rehome to somewhere with older children, if any. Still very puppy-like. Good recall, pulls a bit on the lead. Took treats very gently from our volunteer. A really gorgeous dog.
Savannah

This is 6 yr old, unspayed bitch, Savanna. She is a lovely, well trained girl. Fine with children from 2yr upwards. Fine with other dogs, currently living with 2 small dogs. Housetrained. Likes to travel in the car. Microchipped, but not upto date with vaccinations. No aggression in her whatsoever, a fantastic temperament.
Banjo

This is Banjo, who was picked up as a stray. He is approximately 3-4 yrs old, and appears to have a lovely, laid back temperament. He is in foster care with another gsd and there are no problems. Seems fine with older children. Housetrained. Not microchipped. Not known if he is vaccinated. Pulls a little on the lead. A really nice dog.
Tia

This is 5 yr old unspayed bitch, Tia. She has a fantastic temperament, loves children, loves to play and is obsessed with her squeaky toy snowman! She greeted our assessor with a lovely waggy tail. Tia has had some training, she knows sit, stay, paw etc. Not food or toy possessive. She is quite overweight, not getting walked at all, just left for 12 hours everyday while the owner works. She pulls on the lead at first, but hardly surprising. Tia was attacked by a dog when she was younger, so she isnt keen on other dogs when out on walks. This needs working on. Dislikes cats. Needs a home urgently, she is being left far too long.
Brian

This is 2 yr old, entire male, Brian. Housetrained. Brian is living with children, but has pushed his way higher up the pecking order & is growling at 1 of the children. He is a very strong, dominant character. Not socialised properly, so can come across quite aggressively. Dominant also with other dogs. Needs an experienced home, with somebody who will put him in his place. Needs boundaries & he will be a smashing dog.
Buster

This handsome boy, is 2 yrs old, entire male Buster. He is housetrained & travels well. He is fine with other dogs, he feels alot more at ease around several other dogs. Cats a definite no. Children, only older, sensible ones if any. He walks well on the lead. Buster is quite nervous of strangers & this can come across as aggression, but if you ignore him he will be fine. He bonds very strongly with one person & will become protective over you, so he needs an experienced home who will manage this. Once he trusts you he will let you do anything with him. Very playful & affectionate with people he knows well. In the right home, he will be an amazing dog.
Mollie

This pretty lady is 9 yr old Mollie. She is an absolute sweetheart and needs a home as she was being picked on by the owners other dog. She is currently being fed in the morning, then left in the house on her own, until the following morning. She is housetrained. Travels well. Walks really well on and off lead. She is spayed and in good health. Fine with cats. A lovely, placid girl who just needs a nice retirement home.
Diesel

This is entire male Diesel. He is approximately 12 months old. Not up to date with vaccs, not microchipped. He is a typical lively young male, rough with his play, but no aggression at all. He learns very quickly. Too boisterous to be rehomed with young children. Fine with other dogs, but not submissive ones as he would become too dominant. Housetrained. Excellent recall. Walks well on the lead. Sleeps in kitchen, no problems. Needs to know who is boss.
Louie

Louie is a big short coat blk/tan 3 yr old entire dog. Good with children over 7 yrs (only because he gets boistrous playing with toys) not food or toy aggressive, pulls on lead but he has not been taught how to walk properly and he doesn't get out. The owners have a baby now so Louie does'nt get walked and have the attention they feel he deserves. Hates cats. Lovely family dog. All he wanted was to give our volunteer kisses...you'd have thought they had known each other for years.
Kruger

When his owners get up in the morning they give Kruger his breakfast and put him in his pen where he is alone all day until about 6.00 in the evening when they let him into the kitchen. He is not allowed beyond there because of the baby who has eczema. Kruger is becoming increasingly distressed and has now started to pace up and down the kitchen crying. Kruger just looks so sad as he is being continuously pushed away and he doesn’t understand why. He is a beautiful dog, his owners got him as a rescue when he was 14 month. He hates cats but loves to play with other dogs he loves the baby but is not allowed near him now. Kruger is a very loyal dog to his owners if shown some love he will immediately settle in.
Avek

This stunning lad is 14-month old Avek, a long-coated, entire, white male. His lady owner in Cumbria is unable to give him the time, attention and socialisation he needs and is reluctantly parting with him. He pulls on the lead and is, therefore, not getting the exercise he needs. He is initially nervous of strangers and needs careful introduction, although he has never bitten anyone. Our volunteer introduced him to his bitch and Avek played with her, but we are told he can be nervous of some dogs, so he is probably best rehomed with a bitch or as an only dog. House-trained and vaccinated. He needs a firm, but gentle, experienced owner.
Charly & Thai - Once much loved pets but now living outside in a shed since baby was born

Owner says: Both dogs are 6 years old but not related. They have not been seperated for 5 1/2 years. When they are seperated they do get distressed and pine for each other. Thai has not been neutered and has papers to show he is full german shepherd which also shows his family tree which consists of international winners. Charly is spayed however doesn't have any papers. The dogs have only encountered children in the park or street as there have been no children in the family until recently, my husband and I have had a baby. We live in a terrace house and do not have the space or the time to care for the dogs as they rightly deserve. They are living outside with a shed converted into a kennel for the both of them. It isn't ideal for the dogs. The dogs are playful and very loving with humans. With other dogs they are protective on the lead however when off the lead they play with other dogs, some times they forget how big they are and get a bit boisterious. It has been a hard decision to make, we are very attached to them but the dogs come first and they need more than what we can offer them.
Dotty

Dotty is a 8 year old German Shepherd Dog, she is very friendly and gentle, she mixes well with other dogs and has mixed with children. DOTTY IS NOT IN THE KENNELS BUT IS IN A FOSTER HOME IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN REHOMING HER PLEASE CONTACT JOAN/ROY SUCH ON 0151 678 0619
Eryn

Eryn is a beautiful, 8 year old, unspayed bitch. Eryn is fine with other dogs, currently in foster care with a 9 month old pup. She is housetrained. Eryn travels ok in the car. She does bark at strangers initially, but soon settles when told to. Eats well, no known health issues. A really nice, gentle lady. Eryn is ok with children as long as they dont pester her! Not sure how she is with cats.
Nikita

Nikita is a very friendly girl, aged 6, though she seems much younger. She greeted our volunteer with licks and a waggy tail. She is good with children and likes other dogs, except white ones (she was attacked by one when she was a pup) and presently lives with Sabre and 2 Yorkies. Pulls on lead at first, but soon settles. Spayed and vaccinated. The owner is going abroad and would ideally like Nikita and Sabre rehomed together.
Sabre

Sabre is 4 and has lived with Nikita all his life. He is wary of strangers, barks and needs socialising, but good with people once introduced, though he is not keen on younger children. Loves a bath, food possessive with the other dogs. When out he ignores other dogs, but will chase cats. Initially pulls on lead. Neutered and vaccinated. The owner is going abroad and wants to re-home him with Nikita if possible.
Sheba - Dogs Trust Merseyside

Sheba is in her advanced years now and loves nothing more than to recline on her sofa and watch the world go by. Sheba also loves leisurely strolls with her carers or her favourite volunteers. Sheba can get worried by strangers so she is looking for a new home where the owners are experienced. Type of home needed: Sheba has been returned a few times now so she would dearly love her new home to be forever. Sheba is looking to be the only dog in an adult only home. Sheba does have some health issues mainly being pancreatic problems but Dogs Trust will cover all of Sheba’s non routine veterinary care.
