We Need Your Donations
German Shepherd Rescue is run entirely by volunteers, who gladly give up their spare time to help rescue and rehome unwanted GSD's, simply because of their love for this wonderful breed. We all operate on an out of pocket basis. We rely completely on donations from the public to enable us to carry on with our rescue work.
Unlike some large animal charities - we have a no destruction policy. We do not have an age above which we will not rehome. We take in dogs that other organisations would destroy if new homes were not found quickly. It costs us £5 per dog per day to keep each one of these in a safe place. We have several long stay dogs that drain our funds.
If you regularly shop on line you can help raise money for the rescue without it costing you a penny. Some of the biggest retail names will donate a percentage of the sale price of goods to your nominated cause if you go through EASY FUNDRAISING. Nominate German Shepherd Rescue
Ted GSR Mascot - Rescued at just a few weeks old

Ted was sold at the age of 8 weeks to an inexperienced owner as a guard dog. Fortunately the neighbours heard his cries coming from the cold dark shed where he had been shut in, rescued him and contacted us. Ted is now happy in his forever home.
How do we spend donated money?
Most of our funds are spent on kenneling and veterinary fees. Unfortunately we do not yet have our own kennels and even though we negotiate special boarding rates, we still pay on average £5 per dog per day. We have a number of kennels across the UK that will kennel in an emergency for us but the bills mount up very quickly if we have several dogs in kennels.
It is very difficult to find people willing to transport dogs for us, so some trips to rescue a dog involve volunteers traveling hundreds of miles. We need to be able to cover petrol costs for the long trips.
Anyone who has a dog will know that veterinary treatment is very expensive and we struggle to find vets willing to give us discounts. Vet costs can run into hundreds of pounds, but we have to ensure that our dogs receive the care that they need. Some dogs will have long term or lifelong illnesses requiring medication.
Your donations will help us help more dogs like Ted
