GSD's in kennels for months - unwanted & unloved

SPONSOR A KENNEL AND HELP US KEEP THESE DOGS SAFE

These are some of the dogs being housed in commerical boarding kennels at the rescues expense. Most have come from the dog pounds, all were at risk of being put to sleep. We really could not allow that to happen. Can you sponsor a kennel to help us pay the ever mounting kennel bills so that we can keep more dogs safe. Are you interested in adopting or fostering one of these dogs?

EACH DOG IS COSTING A MINIMUM OF £5 -8 PER DAY

Harvey 4 yrs - now in kennels nearly a year

Harvey is a big, beautiful 4 year old, entire male who has spent a lot of time in kennels. He is not good with other dogs generally but if properly introduced would accept a placid bitch. Harvey is a loyal dog once he has got to know you however he is very nervous and would need an experienced owner who has a lot of GSD knowledge and isn’t fazed by his initial anxieties and is prepared to take the time to gain his trust, but needs socializing outside the home. He needs an experienced home without children. He can take against certain people which would need to be managed.

JD - 18mths old

JD the young GSD

JD is a lovely young boy who went to a home but they don't want him anymore as he didn't like it when children came knocking on the door on Halloween night and because he didn't like the vet who was trying to put him out to castrate him. Words fail us too! Nice young dog that needs a nice home that understands GSD's.

Keizer- 8 NW

keizer

Keizer is an 8 year old, black and tan, short haired, entire male. He loves people and is generally friendly. He is fine with the owners teenage children when they visit. Keizer is very protective towards his owner and will guard her. She is pregnant and due to his protective nature he is being rehomed due to concerns about his reaction to the baby. Keizer hates cats, sheep and other dogs, having been attacked by another dog as a puppy. He is well behaved and obedient and needs a new home.

Sheba

sheba from the north east

We think Sheba is 2/3 DOB April. She  is not a large bitch, has been kept at home in the garden not mixed with other dogs or people. The husband died last year and wife said it was his dog. She is now moving to a flat and can't take Sheba. When she came to us she was very scared and showed nervous aggression. She has been in kennels many months and she has not coped so urgently needs a nice quiet loving home with either older children or no children. She may eventually mix with other dogs but again we don't know. How sad that a dog has been with someone for 2/3 years and they know nothing about her.

Seth - central. Beautiful good fun boy.

seth

This beautiful big boy is now safe with us. He was another dog that faced death in the dog pound because he guarded his kennel. Nice boy about 5 years old that needs a nice forever home. He is very protective so would be better in a more rural area.

Bo Bo - Lovely big boy

bo bo black gsd

Bo Bo is a big dog who loves a game and is quite active, but after a bit of running around he wants to have a steady walk and a lay down We think that he would probably be better suited in an adults only home he is the only dog and where perhaps children just visit. He loves company and is content to sit with you at the gate etc and watch the world go by. He is unsafe loose around livestock.

Charlie 3

charlie the epileptic dog

Charlie is a 3 year old, black and tan, semi long haired, entire male. Charlie is a friendly dog who has not been socialized with other dogs, but he does not seem to bother about them in kennels. He has not seen cats. Charlie suffers from epilepsy which has been poorly managed. The kennels where he is staying are experienced in epilepsy and are working hard to get him stabilized on the correct dosage of medication. He will need an experienced quiet homeAn information pack could be available for the new owners.  He requires a home where he isn’t expected to go for long walks and would be suitable for a house where there would be no young children to avoid unnecessary stress.
